Commissioned in 2007, the Siyang Jianshu treatment plant has a daily processing capacity of 25 000 m3/d. It is roughly 50% smaller than the former WWTP and has guaranteed stable operation even  during the winter, where the average running water temperature is 6.2 °C. Effluent COD and ammonia nitrogen meet the national emission standards.
