Engelbart Biologische Verfahren GmbH (EBV), located at Westerstede, Germany, is a world-leading technology company engaged in first-class water treatment processes and development of water treatment equipment. The company, formerly known as the Engelbart Biologische Verfahren studio, was established by Dr. Wilke Engelbart in 1979.

Born in a wastewater treatment family in Germany, Dr. Wilke Engelbart is a world-renowned water treatment expert with over half a century of experience in the water treatment industry. He is also the founder of the continuous fermentation technology and an expert on microbial algal control. In the last 60 years, Dr. Wilke Engelbart and his uncle, Fritz Engelbart, together began to study low-energy-consumption and high-efficiency water treatment technology. In the 1970s, they invented the BioDopp wastewater treatment technology, and later developed the Engelbart Aeration Hose to better support this process. His proprietary technology has been applied to a wide range of water treatment.

Led by Dr. Wilke Engelbart, we have been devoted to the development and realization of low-energy-consumption and high-efficiency water treatment technologies; we now have built up an excellent international team of professionals in the field of wastewater treatment and have been able to provide customized technology packages that include process design, core equipment supply, and commissioning and that are specific for a certain water quality. For decades, we have contributed positively to treatments of municipal sewage, coal chemical wastewater, pig farm wastewater, rural decentralized wastewater source treatment, landfill leachate treatment, printing and dyeing wastewater, and other municipal and industrial areas. Our technologies have also progressed rapidly over the decades; based on the original BioDopp process, we have newly developed Engelbart AB technology. The disadvantages of known processes and equipment were eliminated and advantages were continuously improved upon.
