  • Engelbart®Aeration Hose, invented by Dr. Wilke Engelbart (European Patent: EP0309474) is manufactured by EBV in Germany. The Engelbart®Aeration Hose is made of a proprietary TPU formula and designed with high-density, evenly distributed pores from  a special drilling method. This uniquely designed fine air diffuser creates bubbles, which are less than 1mm-diameter and have a low level ventilation property. The small bubbles are distributed uniformly under water, resulting in a longer retention time and significantly higher oxygen transfer efficiencies. The even aeration also helps to eliminate dead zones. Micro mixing helps to increase mass transfer, which improves the quality of microbial flocculation. The self-cleaning design also ensures that oxygen utilization rate never decreases during the lifetime of the Engelbart®Aeration Hose.

    Features

    High oxygen transfer efficiency (OTE)

    The holes created by a special pore making technology, are almost 100% equally distributed. The formed bubbles are approximately 1mm size which leads to a better flow rate and uniform flow pattern in the basin. Under optimum ventilation, the increases in contact time and wastewater area help to eliminate the chance of bubbles coalescence and thus improve the oxygen transfer efficiency in depth per meter by as high as 9%.

    Stable oxygen utilization

    The regular self-cleaning feature of the aeration tube helps to avoid clogging due to sludge deposition and ensures stable oxygen utilization rate.

    Lower energy consumption

    The aeration tube has high oxygen transfer efficiency under a very low air inflow. Compared to conventional aeration equipment, smaller blowers canbe equipped to the system, thus saving power and reducing operating costs.

    Improve the quality of microbial flocculation

    Since the bubbles produced by the aeration hoses are very small, the adverse effects caused by  traditional aeration equipment are limited. Overall, the mass transfer between the sludge flocs is greatly improved and sludge aging/bulking problems are minimized.

    Excellent backflow prevention function

    Specially designed micro-porous aeration tubes each have a check valve function to prevent the backflow of wastewater when air disruptions occur. Therefore, the aeration hoses are suitable for intermittent aeration operation.

    Longevity

    The unique properties of the elastic polymer material create a high resistance to tearing and deformation and excellent corrosion resistance to acids and bases (5.8<pH<8.8). . The designed lifetime is 15 year.
